| A public art project for Liverpool by Clive Gillman |
Metroscopes is a constantly changing display that represents Liverpool's relationships with its four twin cities - Odessa, Dublin, Shanghai and Koln. By searching the internet for live information about each city and displaying the results on five circular LED displays in Rope Walks square, it acts as a barometer for current thinking about these places. The displays function for 24 hours a day and represent the ebb and flow of data circulating throughout the world, bringing it to the heart of Liverpool, European Capital of Culture 2008. |
